5 Essentials Challenge

Today starts a month-long challenge I am doing with myself. It’s called the 5 essentials challenge. It’s two fold: 1. it will help me at work because by the end I should know what it’s like to live the 5 essentials better which will help me relate and explain things to patients better 2. it will help me live healthier and learn to make healthier food.

What are the 5 essentials? (with a few changes)

Maximized Mind — this will be worked out in my life not through positive affirmations and positive energies, but I’m changing it to the time I spend with the Lord everyday reading and praying.

Maximized Nerve Supply— this just means I will get adjusted on a regular basis

Maximized Nutrition– this is the biggest change for me. I am starting out with doing a 5 day detox where you drink this shake (which is practically vitamins and minerals) and eat all the green vegetables you want. This cleanses the body of excess “material” in the body and helps reduce things like sugar cravings. Then after the 5 days I will eat from the Advance plan for the rest of the challenge. I’ll have separate post about the advance plan, so I won’t explain much here. So we’ll see what new recipes I’ll make.

Maximized Oxygen — this is exercising. Technically I should do the MaxT3 workouts we do in our office, but I’m going to be running (training for a half marathon) and teaching one MaxT3 class a week.

Minimized Toxins— pretty much the detox discussed above will also help cleanse the colon. I’m not very convinced about toxins; I think they go to the extreme about them.

In a nutshell that is what I’m doing. I drank my first shake this morning…not very pleasant…thankful for vegetables I can eat.
