I’m Finished…

I’m finished with college forever…now just only if I could find a full-time job for the next few years. I’m thankful I at least have two part-time jobs right now compared to no job at all.

I officially graduate on Saturday and will be the first one in my time slot to walk.

I have to rest of the day off and I’m going to clean my house, listen to some audio books, take a nap, make dinner, and then cut Jake’s hair.

My parents are coming tomorrow after I get off work. I’m looking forward to it.

Last First Day…

  • I completed my last first day of the semester with CST 499 (Senior Research Project) and ESS 100 (Rock Climbing).
  • I have no textbooks so far
  • It’s nice to get to your last year and in every class there is at least one familiar face even in Rock Climbing
  • Our house is a mess, but I have really nothing to do tomorrow, so I shall clean it then.
  • I’m making meatballs for meatball subs tonight
  • Zach is visiting me this afternoon
  • We are playing Settlers of Catan tonight
  • I think I’m going to be really bad at rock climbing. We only did some bouldering today in class and played some games that made me think back to YMCA camp training.
  • Jake is at work, so I’m looking forward to hearing how his class went
  • I feel old…the end.
  • My boss at Howard Johnson is letting me stay on staff even though I won’t be able to work for like over a month and then after that not very often. He’s been so laid back and flexible with my schedule. I’m thankful.
  • My tailbone hurts…it’s lame.
  • One of these days I’ll write about something more substantial
  • I’m reading an excellent book from my mother called “What did you expect: redeeming the realities of marriage” by Paul Tripp.  I would like to post on it eventually because it has really been impacting my life.
  • I alphabetized and categorized our bookshelf a few weeks ago by author and into three categories (fiction/biography, christian education (non-fiction), and reference books. Since our library (if you can even call it one yet) is small, so it was enjoyable and hopefully as it grows it can stay that way. I like order.

Ramblings on a Tuesday Evening

In just a few hours I will be finished with all of my classes except one tomorrow. In just a few hours, after I finish two quizzes for Political Science, all I will have left to do is write a 7-9 page history paper, finish up my methods paper (I just have a few APA questions for my prof. tomorrow and I should be good to go), and turn in an internship progress report.

In just a few days you readers (few that you are) will get a break from hearing about my school projects. In just a few days I will be finished with my last full semester (credit wise) ever!

In just a few days  I will go on a deep cleaning extravaganza (not sure if that’s the word I’m looking for). I have a nice long list of things that need to be cleaned before we head to Austin and eventually Milwaukee. The poor apartment is in need of some good cleaning which I have neglected for over a month. I will play my Christmas music and clean. Then when we get home from travels it will hopefully be nice and clean. I am most excited about cleaning the bathroom and cleaning the stove. A pet peeve of mine (or maybe it’s more like a phobia) is dirty bathrooms (just ask my family) and mine is far from clean right now…aahhh. The oven is dirty and it doesn’t have the self-cleaning button, so this will be a new experience for me.

We were “snowed-in” this past weekend which was nice. I was at work till 3pm on saturday and got a good work out keeping the hotel entrances clean of snow. Then Jake and i stayed inside the rest of the evening while the snow continued to come down. About 8:30pm we took a little adventure on foot to Walgreen’s to see if they had any eggs. It was fun because on the way there we were walking against the wind, so it was freezing, but it felt like a true blizzard (like in little house on the prairie books :)). They didn’t have any eggs (bummer), but we came back with some Cherry Coke and a Charlie Brown Christmas tree (perfect for my few ornaments).

We decided to have our little Christmas Saturday night after we got back from our adventure. We each had $25 to spend on each other. Jake gave me all warm things because I am always cold.

Then Sunday church was canceled due to the weather, so we listened to one of Kyle’s sermon’s. Then at 1 pm we ventured out in our car to the La Crosse center because I had an internship duty to fulfill. I have a nice husband who drives me around because I haven’t had much experience driving in the snow.

So that’s life and this became a lot longer than I wanted it too.

The Semester is slowly coming to a close…one more presentation, five more papers (only two of these are big ones), one more quiz….then I’m finished. I’ll be finished by the end of next week and at the latest by the following Monday. What a long semester it’s been. I only have 5 credits next semester consisting of senior research project, capstone for my minor, and indoor rock climbing….booyah.

I’m finished with class for the day. I must go clean up this house a bit and take some chicken out of the freezer for dinner tonight. I’m picking Jake up at 3:15 and then we are going Christmas shopping!

May 2011…

The fall 2010 semester is not finished yet, Christmas isn’t even here yet…none the less, we are thinking about May 2011 in this household.

Why?

For starters I graduate with my undergraduate degree, but more importantly Jacob Aase will be beginning the Doctor of Physical Therapy program at UW-La Crosse. He applied for early enrollment to UW-Milwaukee and UW-La Crosse.

We received the UW-Milwaukee acceptance letter last week, which was a nice feeling to know that someone wanted him, but Milwaukee was really his backup school. So we checked the mail everyday for the letter from La Crosse and prayed that we would accept whatever the outcome. The letter  came this morning saying that he has been accepted to UW-La Crosse. God is good!

So May 2011 will bring a reversal of roles for us as I graduate and find a job (this kinda scares me), and Jake stops working and goes to school full-time.

We’re excited for the adventure…it won’t be easy, but we’re excited.
